O God, you are my God, I seek you, my soul thirsts for you. I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory.

Psalm 62

Contemplative life

Institutes completely devoted to contemplation direct the whole of their lives and all their activities to the contemplation of God.

It is the duty of the consecrated life to show that the Incarnate Son of God is the eschatological goal towards which all things tend, the splendour before which every other light pales, and the infinite beauty which alone can fully satisfy the human heart.

Monasticism and the contemplative life are a constant reminder that the primacy of God gives full meaning and joy to human lives, because men and women are made for God, and their hearts are restless until they rest in him.

Saint John Paul II – Vita Consecrata

For to me to live is Christ.

Lent and holy week

Lenten message

The liturgy of the three holy days
Paschal Triduum

Through their liturgy, drawn from the ancient sources of monastic chant and in particular Gregorian chant, the sisters of Maria Stella Matutina introduce us to their contemplative life where everything is first and foremost ordered to silence and prayer. These songs of the Paschal Triduum (Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday) help us discover the mystery of the Passion and open us to the Resurrection, the Lumen Christi (light of Christ) of the Easter Vigil.

What is a vocation?

From the time when the Gospel was first proclaimed right up to our time, a very large number of men and women have given their personal response, their free and deliberate response, to the call of Christ. They have chosen the priesthood, the religious life, life in the Missions, as the reason for and the ideal of existence. They have served the People of God and humanity, with faith, intelligence, courage and love. Now it is time for you. It is up to you to respond.
